Would you care to share the list of invited elected and appointed people and those who plan to attend?
I believe there is one postion for planning commission. There is also one on the council, who would be replacing Susan Benedict who just resigned. Mayo's position will be filled by Bob Landgren:

Brad,
I understand that all City Council and Planning Commissioners are invited to the Town Hall Meeting and so far a few have committed to being there.
I thought we had a forum for a town hall meeting. Most call it the City Council Meetings. If some are afraid to get up and talk at the Council meeting, why are they not afraid to get up and talk at this town hall meeting? Is this just a way to circumvent our city government? I do think that if all the city council members...and I do repeat ALL of the City Council members were to be willing to make compromises and listen to other's points of view, we wouldn't have the 'Them' and 'Us' attitude that is so clear to the people of White Salmon.
As far as the Planning Commission opening to replace Susan Benedict, I thought the initial opening was to fill Jim Kazena's position.
I would like to see a woman replace Susan - that's just the way I think...preferably a woman who will not have any conflict in the appointment.
Now, I think it time to put the Chief Cortese matter aside, even if the majority declare it to be the biggest blunder of all blunders, which will cost the people of White Salmon dearly, and get on with the business of making White Salmon a great community. And, that includes being thankful that we have Mike Wellman to help us take care of the number two blunder of all times by putting us back on Buck Creek water..
apparently anonymous hasn't attended many coucil meeting! if they had they would know that peoples questions are rarely answered. Mike Wellman and Richard marx appear to be the only ones who take our concerns seriously.
Blur Bell,
That's a cheap shot at council. I'm glad you approve of us hiring Mike Wellman though. If you have a question or concern, please ask me, I'm serious. Here, or bradhroberts@earthlink.net

I do attend City Council meetings. I just don't think that having a "town hall" meeting is doing anybody any good when it seems to be promoted by just one of the council members. I know that people who live outside the city boundary don't seem to have representation in the city government despite the fact that their water and sewer are provided by the city public works. And, they have no say so as to the rate increases, who gets water hookups etc. But, there is a forum for this discussion and that is the City Council. Unfortunately, this City Council and Mayor have been bogged down by the mistakes of the previous Mayor and his administration. Had the City Council listened to Mike Wellman several years ago, we wouldn't be paying the outrageous water bills we now have nor having the threat of possibly running out of water.
